Obituary


Dessie was born the fourth child, to the late Gordon Bailey and Mary Louise 
Bailey, in Town Creek, Alabama. Dessie was preceded in death by her sister 
Margaret Louise Bailey. 


 She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted husband Alfred Evans Jr.; 
daughters V Michelle Evans of Boston MA, Kalisha Spence (Byron) of Manassas 
VA; sons Anthony Evans of Orlando FL, and Eric Gethers of Plant City FL; beloved 
grandchildren Antaun, Antonio, Byron and Elizabeth; godchildren Jeanelle, 
Dorothy, Catara, and Christalyn; three sisters Minnie P Williams, Jessie P Bailey, 
and Regina Dixon (Vernon); six brothers Paul Edward (Pearl), Earl (Mary), Gordon 
Bailey Jr. (Doris), Robert (Beverly), Larry (Doris), and Otis (Doretha); one aunt 
Zannie B Elliott; sister-in-law Sherry Allen and brother-in-law Willie Sr. (Cricket); 
best friends “The Posse”,  a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and 
friends.
