Mrs. Willie "Charlotte" Simmons Davis, was the first of 10
children born to the late Lucian "Bud" Simmons, Sr. and Lela Jackson Simmons on September 13, 1928 in Colbert County, Alabama; departing this life on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 1:05 P.M. at Florence Rehabilitation Center.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Davis; five brothers: Herman "Jim," Thomas "Buck," Woodson "Tee," Lucian "Peter," and Robert "Sweet Daddy" Simmons; and two sisters: Jessie Jean Chandler and Mary Reeder.
She confessed Christ early in life and joined Cave Springs MB Church, later uniting with Shiloh MB Church where she remained until her health prevented her to attend regularly.
She was educated in the Colbert County school system and worked domestically and at UNA.
Cherishing her memories are: Son, Curtis (Carolina) Davis; granddaughters: Lisa (Rondell) Walker, Patoka (LaShane) Freeman; Sabrina (Thomas) Summerhill; grandson, Ronzell Sims; and five great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Leon (Clara) and Frank Simmons, bother of Florence; sister-in-law, Mattie, of Florence; dedicated family friend, Bessie Turner, a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other loyal friends and many acquaintances
