Stanley Perkins Obituary

Mr. Stanley Louis Perkins was born on December 8, 1958 in  Florence, Alabama to the late John Edward Perkins and Angeline Jones Perkins, both whom preceded him in death. He departed this life March 9, 2022 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Stanley accepted Christ at age 12 and joined Saint James MB Church of Florence, AL. He attended W.C. Handy and graduated from Coffee High School in 1977. Afterwards, he attended Alabama State University, majoring in Business Administration. After leaving ASU, he returned home and worked at Lowe's for several years. Stanley later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he lived for over 35 years. There, he was employed at Arrow Electronic for 12 years and then with FedEx for 15 years before retiring in 2021.

Stanley, (Steamer) as some would call him, enjoyed and loved life to the fullest. His spirit was contagious! Stan was the life of the party and he was known for showing-off his dancing moves at gatherings. His infectious laugh will never be forgotten.

Stanley was a die-heart Raiders football fan. In his quiet time, he would faithfully listen to Joel Osteen Ministry.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John Edward Perkins, Jr. and his sister Johnnie Ruth Jones.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memory three lovely daughters: Shemeka McDaniel of Shanghai, China, Ashley Gilbert and Twitima Webster both of Florence, two granddaughters, Aurianna Webster and Ashton Gilbert, one brother Leonard Perkins of Florence, five sisters, Lula Oates, Edna Perkins, Linda(David) Harden, Carolyn(Lloyd) Mixon all of Florence, Sarah (Alvin) Fouse of Racine, Wisconsin, two aunts, Mrs. Louise Thompson and Mrs. Lillian Thompson of Florence, two foster brothers Dale(Wendy) Siemientkowski of Florence, Johnny (Rhonda) Tucker of Florence, and Godbrothers Dennis and Fred Ingram, and Godsister Gwen Pugh, a devoted nephew Fonte Ricks, best friends Charles (Katrina) Stringer and Angelo (Javona) Rosabur, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
